Tips for a Comfortable Bed and Breakfast Stay

Staying at a bed and breakfast is different from hotel accommodation, and understanding what to expect helps you have a more enjoyable visit. Here are some practical tips from our experience hosting guests.
Arrive at Check-In Time – We ask guests to arrive between 3 and 6 PM. This allows our team to prepare rooms properly and give you a proper welcome. If you'll be arriving outside these times, please let us know in advance so we can arrange access.
Communicate Dietary Requirements Early – If you have allergies, intolerances, or dietary preferences, inform us when booking or as soon as you arrive. This ensures breakfast can be prepared safely and satisfyingly for you.
Respect Quiet Hours – Our other guests are here to relax and sleep. Please keep noise to reasonable levels, especially between 10 PM and 8 AM. This is particularly important in shared wall situations.
Use Provided Facilities Appropriately – Familiarise yourself with how appliances work. Ask staff if anything is unclear. Many rooms have kettles, hairdryers, and heating controls that operate differently from what you might expect.
Parking and Access – Know where to park and how to access your room. Ask for clarification if you're unsure. Keep doors locked and don't leave valuables unattended in common areas.
Enjoy the Social Aspect – One of the joys of B&B stays is meeting other travellers. The breakfast table is often where friendships form and travel tips are exchanged. Feel free to join conversations if you'd like, but equally, some guests prefer quiet mornings – respect individual preferences.
Plan Your Day – Decide in advance what time you'll want breakfast so staff can prepare accordingly. If you're heading out early, let us know and we can arrange an earlier breakfast or provide a packed alternative.
Check-Out Procedures – We ask guests to check out by 11 AM. This allows time for cleaning before the next guests arrive. If you need a late checkout, ask when you arrive – we'll do our best to accommodate.
Leave Feedback – We genuinely value guest feedback. If something wasn't quite right, tell us so we can improve. Equally, positive feedback helps our team know they're doing well.
